Reader 's Workshop: The story this week will be Abuela. It is a story about a little girl going places with her grandmother. The children will be learning vocabulary:
harbor - place where ships dock
flock - group of birds
glide - fly smoothly without effort
swooping - flying downward fast
soared - flew high
The children will be practicing making visual images about the story. Connections between their experiences with their grandmother will be discussed. Comprehension and vocabulary quizes will be on Thursday. Phonics: adding s or es to words. Reader's Workshop: finding the meaning of poetry by using the clues in the writing as well as their prior knowledge.
Forum: Your child needs to click on the icon with the two faces and respond to the question asked. I'm hoping the children will learn how to respond to a question on my Schoolweb page.
